Real Madrid have been banned from building parking lots near the Santiago Bernabeu. The Madrid Supreme Court has confirmed the cancellation of the 2023 municipal tender that saw Real Madrid win the contract to build and operate two parking lots next to its stadium, El Diario reports. The resolution also notes that significant changes were made to the economic and financial justification for the project, which were not made public. In addition, parking areas are inconsistent with the Special Site Plan.
The court also ordered Real to pay legal costs of 12, 000 euros. The Madrid City Council must pay another 6, 000 euros. The city authorities will be able to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court.
