I have to conduct this legal battle since August 2014. More than 11 years! I do it for myself. And if I managed to survive under the onslaught of FIFA, then only thanks to my successful career.
But I also did this for all other, less famous players who have no financial and psychological opportunities to challenge the FIFA in the courts.

I waited several months before resuming the proceedings in Belgium. I believed that FIFA and KBVB after the efforts of FIFPRO and FIFPRO Europe, aimed at achieving the result, at least will be polite and will turn to me with a proposal for a peaceful settlement of the dispute. It was in this tone, by the way, I received messages from FIFA. But this did not happen. This is their right, but it reflects the preserved culture of disrespect for the rule of law and to the players, despite the clear message of the European Union.
To my great regret, we will again have to give explanations to the judges, since I have no other choice.
In this regard, I would like to thank FIFPRO and FIFPRO Europe and the trade union of professional football players of France (UNFP) for invariable support - they continue to stand firmly on my side. In the fight against FIFA, only unity and determination can make us strong.
Finally, I am glad that the decision in the Diarra case opened the path to the Fund for the players to file a collective claim in the Netherlands, which will allow all players (and not only those who, like me, suffered specific damage) to receive compensation for the damage caused by the FIFA rules, without the need to pay the legal costs with an advance and without revealing their identity, said Diarra.
